EcoLogic Health

We are a non-profit organization. Our mission is to improve the health of people, animals and the ecosystem by researching and promoting environmental policies that support human populations as well as protect the natural environment. Both natural disasters and the emergence of new disease in humans can be linked to human behavior that is destructive to the environment. The goal of EcoLogic Health is to develop sustainable, equitable solutions that address the interconnection between humans and the environment.

Environmental Ethics

We believe everyone deserves healthy, affordable, eco-friendly meal options, regardless of their financial situation. EcoLogic Health was founded to provide an ethical and environmentally conscious solution for this need by sourcing local produce and partnering with schools in underprivileged areas. Our goal is to work with eco-friendly companies to make cost-conscious, healthy food accessible to everyone.

Organizing and participating in local cleanups remain a priority. We continue to work with local parks, beaches and other public lands to help sustain our ecosystem and preserve the legacy of our natural outdoor spaces.

Public Health

We are currently investigating the effects of birth month on the development of inflammatory diseases, including Langerhans cell histiocytosis (LCH). LCH is a rare cancer with a strong inflammatory component. The seasonal dependence in the youngest LCH patients suggest an environmental factor during pregnancy, potentially associated with maternal vitamin D deficiency during the winter months. Our recent analysis shows that a stronger seasonal dependence in younger patients is consistent with a higher prevalence of severe multi-system LCH in that population. Our goal is to continue to investigate the connection between enivornmental conditions and incidence and prevalence of human disease.
